Dominika Cibulkova can tell which Grand Slam a ball comes from just by smell

Dominika Cibulkova, a 27-year-old tennis player from Slovakia who made it to the quarterfinals of Wimbledon before being knocked out on Tuesday, has an extremely bizarre talent. She can smell a tennis ball and tell you which tournament it came from.

BBC shared the video on Twitter last Saturday, but that can only be watched if you’re browsing in the UK. Fortunately, Extra Mustard found another video that’s visible in the U.S. (above).

It’s so weird and great at the same time. Cibulkova says she likes to smell things so much that she now has this magical ability.

There are no tricks involved in BBC’s demonstration.

They blindfold Cibulkova, and then they hand her tennis balls one-by-one, while showing off the can so you can see where they’re from. Supposedly, she gets every single one correct. She even says figuring out the scent of the Wimbledon ball is “very easy” because she has been sniffing it for weeks.
