Mario Williams is taking advantage of his head start on free agency.
The pass rusher and former No. 1 pick is visiting the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, a person with knowledge of the visit confirmed to USA TODAY Sports.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because there had been no announcement about the visit by Williams, 31, who was cut by the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday.
Because Williams was released, he can sign immediately rather than waiting for free agency to open at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The New York Giants also are among the potential suitors for Williams, who has 96 career sacks over 10 seasons with the Houston Texans and the Bills.
