USA TODAY Sports’ Jarrett Bell breaks down various potential contingencies as the NFL tries to play during a pandemic.

The Jaguars starting quarterback Gardner Minshew returned to the team’s facility and resumed throwing passes to his receivers in training camp Tuesday after spending two days in quarantine.

Minshew was activated off the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list after going on the list Sunday with five other players.

And it couldn’t have come soon enough for Minshew, who said he didn’t test positive for the virus but was in close contact with an infected teammate.

”It was brutal dude,” Minshew said during a virtual call on Tuesday. ”Like yesterday, would have been like the first day of school you know, like I had my outfit picked out and everything and had to stay at home. That sucks missed out playing with all my friends.

”I did not contract the virus. It took one look at me and ran the other way. It probably was in its best interests. So here we are back on Tuesday ready to roll.”
