The Jacksonville Jaguars have a quarterback problem.
Blake Bortles struggled once again on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a preseason tilt, it’s no longer certain Bortles will be considered the starter. From USA TODAY Sports:
“It’s right up there for grabs, and either person can take it,” Marrone said in a postgame news conference.
Bortles completed 8 of 13 passes for 65 yards in four drives, all of which ended in a punt. [Chad] Henne played with the Jaguars’ first-team offense and connected on 6 of 10 attempts for 44 yards.
Marrone said he spoke with both players afterward to voice his displeasure.
“I’m not happy with the performance today,” Marrone said. “I’m not going to sit here and B.S. anyone ― everyone saw it out there. Whatever you want to call it, I’m still trying to evaluate who the best person is at the position, I told the quarterbacks, to lead the offense.”
