Lithuanian club team Prienu Vytautas are hoping the Ball family mania translates to increased interest and marketing opportunities for their club, the the team’s coach Virginijus Seskus admitted he had never seen LiAngelo or LaMelo Ball play before the two teenagers agreed to a one-year deal.
While basketball analysts in the United States are debating whether LaVar Ball has made a massive mistake, the deal is likely worth the gamble for Prienu Vytautas, which according to initial reports was facing financial problems and sold tickets to games for only 5 euros. Ticket prices have been rising since the Ball brothers were signed, though, and even LaMelo and LiAngelo’s new teammates are trying to cash in.

“Teammates also see “off-court” opportunities with the arrival of the Balls. Tomas Dimsa, a 6’6″ forward, is auctioning off his season membership to games on his Facebook page. His 6’8″ teammate in the frontcourt, Justas Sinica, responded to the post, saying the auction begins Dec. 31 at €1,000 per game. (“It’s now worth €10,000,” said an agent who has a client on that team.)”
