During their opening round NHL playoff series against the Dallas Stars, the Minnesota Wild temporarily changed their goal song to honor hometown legend Prince, who had just passed away a few days earlier.
Now, after taking a survey of season ticket holders, the team has decided to make the change permanent because who doesn’t want to rock out to Prince every chance they get?
“It’s our privilege to celebrate an iconic hometown artist that clearly has had an incredible impact on our community and the world,” said John Maher, vice president of communications for the Wild.
Plus, this is the perfect song for people their celebrations laced with existential dread. In case you need a reminder as to just how good ‘Let’s go crazy’ is, here’s Prince performing it at the 2007 Super Bowl.
