Ray-Ray McCloud is latest to celebrate TD early

Repeat after me, football players: “I do solemnly swear I will carry the football all the way into the end zone, then begin celebrating.”

Got it? Good. Because Clemson’s Ray-Ray McCloud is the latest player to commit the fumble-near-the-goal-line-because-of-celebrating-too-early blunder (or, The DeSean Jackson, as it’s known in some circles). Here’s McCloud’s fumble after returning a punt in Saturday’s game against Troy:

Florida State’s Dalvin Cook dropped a TD last week, but that was accidental. Still, the lesson is clear: If you’ve got a clear path to the end zone and a football in your hands, try not to let go until you’ve scored and you’re back on the bench.

Former Baylor coach Briles is confident he will get another chance and says he has learned some lessons after losing his job over allegations that his program mishandled complaints of sexual assault. In his most extensive public comments since leaving Baylor, Briles said while visiting training camp with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, that the circumstances leading to his departure were unfortunate for a lot of people, "victims first and foremost."
