Hall of Famer and Undisputed co-host Shannon Sharpe isn’t just being trotted out by FOX to cover the Westminster Dog Show because he’s comfortable on the air.
No, it turns out Sharpe is a dog fanatic and a huge fan of the annual prestigious canine event in New York City. The proof? He’s using some vacation time to be a part of the FOX broadcast team.
“I asked if I could go,” Sharpe told For The Win this week. “It just so happened to coincide with my vacation. I get to spend my vacation doing the dog show.”

But he’s a seriously informed dog owner, something that will come in handy next week.
“I think (viewers) will be surprised I’m a dog lover, but I think they’ll be more shocked about my knowledge of dogs,” he said. “I’ve had Rottweilers, Akitas, Bullmastiffs, and Pomeranians. My uncles had hunting dogs. Growing up, my grandmother had a beagle, so I know the breeds, I know what they’re looking for and I know how the judges are judging.”
This is more than just a job for Sharpe and he’s ready to prove that.
