The Best Team in the N.F.L.? Right Now, It’s the Vikings

Five weeks have been played in the N.F.L. season. The Denver Broncos, the reigning Super Bowl champions, have lost. So have the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Playing without Tom Brady, the New England Patriots also lost.

The Carolina Panthers, who were 15-1 last season and won the N.F.C. title, had lost three times entering Monday night’s game. The Arizona Cardinals have already matched their loss total from last season, with three.

Only one team remains undefeated. Is it possible that the best team in the N.F.L. has Sam Bradford at quarterback?

It is not as if the Minnesota Vikings were terrible last season, although their 11-5 regular-season record was overshadowed by a 10-9 home loss to the Seattle Seahawks in freezing conditions in the playoffs’ wild-card round.
