I’ve spent each week of the 2017 NFL season writing about the roller coaster ride that is rooting for the Cleveland Browns with our Fan Hope Index. I thought I’d reached the bottom when there was an actual dumpster fire outside the team’s stadium, or when Joe Thomas’s injury ended his amazing snaps streak.
But never in my wildest imagination did I think that it could get much worse than all of that … until Tuesday.
Some 30 minutes or so after I’d written my Week 8 entry – why I thought it was totally fine that the Browns didn’t trade for Jimmy Garoppolo, an attempt to talk Browns fans off a ledge – the reports came down:
Now, look: As I said with Garoppolo, there’s no guarantee McCarron is the starting QB of the future and worth a couple of those precious draft picks Cleveland has been gathering.
