‘Trade’ Ensures Lucas Duda Can’t Shake That Pesky Instagram Account

Granderson said he has not yet seen the toy because the Mets have mostly been on the road since the deal was completed, but he hoped it would be in his mail when the Subway Series against the Yankees continued at Citi Field on Wednesday.

“It’s got a name already,” he said. “Duda.”

A member of the Mets’ organization since the team drafted him in 2007, Duda blossomed into a power-hitting first baseman with the major league team. But as he settled into the clubhouse, his quiet, social-media-averse and camera-shy personality also drew the attention of teammates.

Granderson, who maintains his own Instagram account, created the @wefollowlucasduda handle about two years ago with the former Mets Danny Muno and John Mayberry Jr. Although he solicited submissions from teammates, Granderson was the driving force behind the account, and most of the posts came from him.
