Venus Williams is a busy woman. The No. 9-ranked player in the world recently competed at the French Open, will take the court at Wimbledon in a little over a week, has been practicing with her sister Serena as they gear up for the Olympics in Rio, and has signed on to be a spokesperson for Silk (the purveyor of nut and soy milk). But she still managed to find the time to chat with For The Win about what the Olympics mean to her, how fun it is to play with her sister, and what she puts in her smoothies.
Where are you right now? What’s up next for you? how are you feeling?
I’m in West Palm Beach, and I’ve got the Olympics coming up and Wimbledon around the corner. It’s a handful. I’m feeling good and I’m excited — it’s always something to get up for, to play for the majors. And it’s really a privilege to be there, you know? You have to earn it every single time.
What’s your favorite Grand Slam tournament?
