Why every fantasy owner should target breakout RB

Week 2 is already on its way in fantasy football, which means owners are already prepping for the first set of waivers.

And there’s one player who should be your No. 1 target no matter what kind of league you’re in: Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen.

We mentioned him in our “who you should pick up to replace David Johnson” post, but let’s shine the spotlight a little more on the rookie who could be a big part of fantasy lineups going forward.

Here’s why you should make every effort to grab Cohen ahead of other free agents:

1. Jordan Howard doesn’t catch too many passes

During his breakout 2016 rookie season, the former Indiana back caught 29 receptions on 50 targets. It’s not bad, but it’s not like he’s a gamebreaker as a receiver.

2. Cohen has wheels

It’s not quite Tyreek Hill speed, but he ran a 4.42 at the 40 during this year’s combine, third among running backs. And despite his diminutive size – 5-foot-6, 181 pounds – he’s tougher than he looks. Check out some film from his days at North Carolina A&T:

3. The Bears’ offensive line will open up holes for him

This video from Week 1 shows what they can do … and what Cohen can do when there’s a broken play. Scary.
