Why Joel Embiid is the 2017 Twitterer of the Year

If we’re being honest, Joel Embiid could probably win the award of best athlete on Twitter every year.

Before he even reached the NBA, Embiid had put his personality on display with hilarious tweets. This year, though, has been different. No, Embiid’s Twitter personality hasn’t changed. He’s still awesome. But in 2017, Embiid has leveraged his incredible on-court performance into the ultimate Twitter trolling.

There was the infamous draft-day tweet about Lonzo and LaVar Ball.

Then, Embiid got this Twitter season off to a blistering start when he poked fun at Kevin Durant’s burner account while simultaneously trolling the Heat’s Hassan Whiteside.

His photo choices typically have not-so-subtle messages behind them.

And, of course, he couldn’t help but bring up the 2016 NBA Finals after a loss to the Warriors. We all know what happened there.

The trolling just doesn’t stop.
