Winners and losers from NFL's wild weekend

We haven’t even gotten to the start of the new league year, and the NFL offseason is already off the rails. After a crazy weekend of moves, we take a look at the big winners and losers…


Richard Sherman

Some have questioned whether Sherman cost himself money by negotiating with the 49ers without an agent, but there’s a good chance that, unlike former teammate Russell Okung, that he sees the end of his deal. And there was no chance he was getting more than he did from San Francisco from another team. If Sherman can put together a good 2018 season and make the Pro Bowl – having as big a name as he does will help there – he could end up making more money than he would have if Seattle decided to keep him around. That rarely happens for a veteran cap casualty.

Tyrod Taylor

Getting shipped off to Cleveland is rarely seen as a win, especially in the NFL, but the Browns have built up quite the supporting cast and could add to it in the upcoming draft. Taylor will play behind a top-10 offensive line, he’ll have a strong receiving corps of Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry, Corey Coleman and David Njoku and Cleveland could end up with the draft’s best skill player,…
